BASÍLICA DE SAN JAIME APÓSTOL DE ALGEMESÍ

The Church is placed in the centre of the village, in the main square of Algemesí, and it was built in the 16th century. To its feet we can find the Chapel of the Communion, primitive church, which communicates with the current one by three arches. Stands out its renaissance facade finished with the shield of the town, and the tower belfry, placed on it. The Church of San Jaime Apóstol is one of the key points of the Festivities of Mare de Déu d’Algemesí, recognized by the UNESCO like Immaterial Patrimony of the Humanity.
