• The sporting event is expected to bring together more than 300 paddlers from all over Spain.
• This year the event is taking another step towards the internationalisation of the event with the participation of paddlers from different countries.
• The organisers are planning two popular descents open to the public to paddle down the river Júcar in a canoe or SUP.

The mythical “Descens del Xúquer” will celebrate its 61st edition on 10 and 11 June, 2023. It consists of two stages in the competitive modality with a total distance of 19 kilometres and two popular descents of 6 and 5 kilometres divided into two days.

This year, the “Descens del Xúquer” will be attended by international paddlers from several countries, making it an international descent.

Popular descent in two stages

On Saturday, June 10, the participants will do a 6 kilometres route between Sumacàrcer and Antella, and on Sunday the popular modality will take place between Alzira and Algemesí with a 5 kilometres route.

Those interested in participating in the popular mode of the “Descens del Xúquer”, can do it by their own means – kayak and SUP in the stage of Sumacarcer and only by kayak in the departure from Alzira.

La Ribera de Xúquer is located 35 kilometres southwest of the city of Valencia and is well connected with the A-7 motorway. Valencia has direct links with almost all the main Spanish capitals by train, bus and plane.
